High in the Andes Mountains
My passion for everything railroad is well known among my friends and those friends tend to travel a lot. One of the results is the fact that I am the happy recipient of railroad photographs from all over the globe.
Just yesterday I received a few pictures from my pal Yao Zhao, who is currently high up in the Peruvian Andes. I wanted to share those photographs with you.
Yao has not told me where exactly he took these photos, but I am reasonably certain that the first photograph is of the “Hiram Bingham” train. This train runs from Cusco to Machu Picchu. Actually the rail terminus is at Aguas Calientes, from where one either takes a bus to Machu Picchu or one can embark on a three hour hike up the steep slope to the fascinating Inca citadel.

As for the next photograph: I have no idea where that would be!

Here are a few more photographs that I took when Brad and I visited Puno, Cusco and Lima a few years ago.
